IHSW and TUSAL

Hello Lovelies...

What a busy weekend! Tons of shopping, stitch group, Maker's Faire, more shopping, Armory tour and a friend's birthday. I am pooped...and broke! I shouldn't have shopped so much but I finally found some new tanks, swimsuit and a cover up.

I hate shopping for a swimsuit but I needed a back up since my oldest one is a little too big in some parts. What is it with swimsuits though? You pay a fortune for something that contains very little fabric. Bikini bottoms are always too small which is frustrating when you're blessed with certain assets that you don't want pudging out all over the place. Two pieces are definitely made for skinny stick figures. But I finally managed to find something that was colorful, fun, fit properly and covered the stuff that needed covering.

But between this shopping trip, vacation and rent increase, I'm on a minimal spending ban til the Fall! Thank goodness I have enough stash to see me through.

So what have I been up to on the stitching front...

Fairy Moon is slowly growing. I've been enjoying the shading on her dress that I haven't moved upwards to stitch her face and hair yet.

I am fond of her and am sad that I have to leave her behind. Ten days away from her and not a stitch to be done?! How will I survive?

Maybe Jane Pattison will distract me enough. At stitching group on Saturday, I decided to start her. There are only a few stitches made but a start is a start no matter how small....right??

Jane Pattison isn't *that* small so in case I can't manage or the dogs are trying to sniff my stitching, I have some smalls I'll be taking along with me too. :)

And lastly, my TUSAL report! I found peonies at a local Trader Joe's. They are only of my favorite flowers!!

This is the last post before I leave on my trip. You all take care of yourselves and stitch lots. I'm sure I'll have lots to catch up on when I get back.

Until next time...

The peonies are just beautiful, such a delicate colour too. The two little kokeshi dolls are cut too. Have a great holiday and come back refreshed.

I just love the fabric you're using for Fairy Moon. Good progress :) Well, missing her might be a good thing. Means you'll stitch more on her when you get back :)

Beautiful peonies. You have fun and take good care!

Hugs,
Veronica.

I've never seen cut peonies for sale before - they're gorgeous! I do wish we had a TJs as I've heard so many good things about them. Enjoy your vacation!

Fairy moon is so beautiful! I can see why you didn't start on her face yet. Enjoy your holiday, do a stitch now and then, but most of all just enjoy!

Hi Valerie! Your "Fairy Moon" continues to be lovely! Getting started on these designs takes a little patience, but once you begin to see it take shape, you can't put it down! Love your peonies. They are always in my top 3 favorite flowers and yours are a beautiful color! Enjoy your vacation ... have lots of fun and relaxation! Can't wait to hear all about it when you return. Safe travels.

Have a fabulous holiday Valerie! I know what you mean about shopping for a swimsuit. I recently had the misfortune of having to buy a new one. I hate the mirrors in changing rooms! They must add 10lbs surely?!

I'm right there with you. I can't BELIEVE what they charge for swimsuits. Mine get ruined SO quickly from the chlorine and sun that I don't want to spend a fortune.

Have a great trip! Can't wait to see pictures.

The peonies are beautiful.

I usually buy swimsuit separates (tankini) because I have mismatched assets. Lots of places do that. Have a great trip!

And make SURE you have a pina colada made with ice cream at the Ritz. Seriously. DO IT!

Glad you survived swimsuit shopping, Valerie--one of my least favorite activities! I'm so happy that you're getting away for a while--enjoy every moment relaxing on the beach... Can't wait to see photos of your vacation. Safe travels, my friend :)

Oooh! Her dress is so pretty so far and I'm really loving the fabby you chose to stitch her on! Yay for starting Jane Pattison! I love peonies and yours are so pretty!! And hey, at least you FOUND a bathing suit that works. I abhor looking for one and refuse to even go and try one on. Hence I resort to wearing a bikini top and a sarong! Have fun on your vacation!!!

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers too, but I don't have any in my garden. Maybe I should rectify that.

Love your progress on the Mirabilia. Those are always so pretty!
