Quick Recap

Hi everybody...how's it going!?

Just a quick post today. Things have been pretty chaotic. I've been to a couple of homeowner workshops and did a phone call to a mortgage broker and all that did was make me really depressed. The housing market in the Bay Area is insane. Rentals are at an all time high and houses cost a pretty penny. I would be limited to mostly condos which means expensive HOA's that kind of put me out of the housing market so my saving grace would be to find some sort of cottage. We'll see what happens. I'm going to sign a year lease on my current apartment (which I love!) and hope that something exciting happens whether it be on the job, dating or housing front.

But for the moment, I am taking a break from dating. I'm not meeting anyone who give me butterflies or that excitement looking forward to the next date. I've also been dealing with ex drama. One who blabbed my business to a mutual group of friends and I have been struggling to recover my social life ever since and to boot, he is now dating someone I also know and he expects me to just co-mingle with them to events we may all mutually be at. I am sorry...I don't think so! I have been so livid. And then he dares to tell me that I am being paranoid that people have been talking behind my back when I know for a fact that they were. Perhaps they aren't any longer but my suspicions that they were were confirmed and made me all the angrier. He may have a Masters' in Psychology and think he's uber smart but I am sorry, I have a Masters of Life Experience and I know more about what is what and what is going on.

As for stitching, it's been slow going. I've only been focusing on Mary Wigham. I am currently on Part 6 although Part 5 is incomplete since I have not stitched the name over one. I think that I will wait until the very end for that bit.

Since the last update, I have stitched the dusty rose motif, the white one to the right of that, the dark brown flowery one and the black one of the far right. I am working on another white one. I may put this aside for a while because with everything going on, I feel like working on something whimsical when I have the rare time to craft. Lilac may be making an appearance soon.

And my TUSAL jar...still skimpy on the orts. Here it is with my Giggles figurine.

Sorry I have been so busy that I am about 600 posts behind in my feeder. I hope that everyone is doing well and I can't wait to catch up and see what everyone is up to!

Until next time...

Hi Valerie,

How awful for you re your EX - some people just don't get it, do they? Love your work on Mary Wigham, boy, she looks so different to mine, such a difference the floss colour choices make.

Hang in there, my dear.

hugs, kaye

So sorry you are dealing with the drama of the ex. Bummer on the housing situation - but at least you do like your current apartment. Love you Mary ~ someday I need to pull mine back out!

I think you definitely need a fun design to lift you up. Something small and summery would be nice - there's so much to choose from at the moment. The little kokeshi doll is cute, I lost one this week to the dog - the cats knocked it down and he chewed it:-)

But the stitching is fabulous!! You are getting close to another finish!

sorry you are having to deal with Butt Face, Karma it likes to make an apperance every now and again. Maybe he will get bit by a super bug and grow a third eye ;)

I know your pain all to well from many many years of renting in the Bay Area, we thought that living in a smaller town on the other coast would be easier, boy were we wrong.

Rents are pretty darn high for this area, we can't find a house to buy for the life of us and hardly anyone takes dogs UGH!!!! We are so stressed out... Wish I could sit down with you and share a bottle or two or three of wine. Hahaha!!!

Mary is looking very pretty. Kepp your chin up girl. As I keep trying to tell myself "Nothings as big a deal as it seems"

Sounds like the ex-boyfriend is seriously lacking any sensitivity genes, Valerie...I'm so sorry you are having to deal with that immature behavior.

And I have a perfect solution for your housing woes--move to Pittsburgh. Ha ha!! Seriously--our cost of living is amazingly low... My oldest is trying to decide about buying a house, too. Really a hard decision. But, enjoy the looking process--I hope a cute cottage falls into your lap :)

Nice progress on Mary and I agree--a cute, whimsical piece would brighten your day. Maybe a Halloween piece? Sending you a hug, my friend...

UGH! What an ass!! Isn't there some sort of rule that you aren't allowed to date in the mutual friend circle? You're stronger than anything that he can say about you, so just keep a little anger in your belly and you'll be fine.
OOOOO I would sooo hold out for a cottage!!! I can just picture it, and I'm already jealous of something that you don't have. LOL
Stitch something Christmasy!! That always makes me feel better. Love what you're stitching now :)

Nothing worse than exes who think a certificate means they know how a woman's mind works...they are usually the most manipulative sort! Hope things ease off for you soon. I have some free USA charts on my blog if you are interested xxx Remind you of what is good in life...

Your Mary Wigham WIP is coming along great. As for the ex drama, it's always awkward if you are in the same social group. As Natasha mentioned, karma rears it head now and again.

Yikes, what a specimen! What my friends call the mono-neuron version - totally clueless. I'm sorry you've had to go through all that. Mary Wigham is looking great :-) But hey, she's female.....

Oh my gosh, I would be livid too. Ugh. What a total bummer! Well, I hope you find the perfect cottage for yourself. And that the ex breaks up with your friend and disappears. lol!

Hey Valerie, I am sorry to hear about your housing situation as well as the dating. I wish the best for you, you certainly deserve it!!! Wow, your MW is really coming a long. Looks like you will be doing that happy dance before me.

Take care my friend!

Sounds like you are well rid of the ex! At least you don't hate where you are living now and hopefully a perfect little cottage will come along soon. :) Your stitching is looking pretty!

Ugh. Hex on all ex's that won't stay dead where you buried them. I feel for you. :(

Valerie, you do have a Masters in Life Experience so that guy can go shove his Masters down a black hole!! I hope that the housing issue gets worked out. I know that we won't be able to buy anything here in the Lower Mainland as the prices are super high. Lovely progress on your Mary! I'm so glad you are working on her again! Hugs!!!

Hey Valerie -- here's to exs disappearing into the sunset, you finding the perfect place, and your stitching being frog free :) Mary is lovely and you make me want to start her -- this is not a good thing!
