IHSW Update

So...I had grand expectations for the weekend. But you know what? They kind of fell flat. I was super restless as the work week drew to a close and that usually means that I flit about and waste a lot of time without getting anything accomplished. Does this happen to anyone else? It's like I can't relax and have all this pent up energy and if I have nowhere to go...oh boy...I become this restless, anxious, cranky mess.

I think this all came about because I spent the week with a work, gym, home routine all week with no social output. The gym is not social! I don't want to be talked to when I'm a sweaty mess. By Friday, I was ready to go out and have fun but had nowhere to go or anyone to go with. This is dangerous because I will troll on the computer and waste my entire evening without a stitch being accomplished.

I had stitching group on Saturday and was supposed to get tons of stitching in but I ended up being a social butterfly and then a sleepy butterfly after I ate my lunch. Note to self: pack lighter lunches for stitching group. Of course, the hostess is such a sweetheart, she wouldn't have minded if I had a little doze on her sofa. lol I did manage to finish the 5th rule on Christmas Rules so some progress was made albeit minor.
After stitching group, I met up with a friend for dinner and to see Breakfast at Tiffany's at the classics movie theater.

I spent Sunday exploring the city. I should have brought my camera but I always think about that after! I walked between Pacific Heights and Russian Hill in the search for cool glasses and a seafood lunch. I found some cute frame options at a fun boutique in Russian Hill. Glasses have been a frustration for me lately. I have a long, oval face and a skinny nose bridge but I like nerdy plastic frames because they are nerdy and are good at hiding the thickness of my hi-index lenses. It is impossible to find a decent frame! At least I have some options now. Now to decide and see if I can find them cheaper as I don't think I can afford a new pair with my budget at the moment. I had my heart set on a yummy seafood lunch at Swan. I hoofed it all the way there only to find out they are closed on Sundays! I settled back over to PacHeight and tried out Woodhouse Seafood instead. It was average and just made me sad that I missed out on Swan. I will have to save it for another day...that's not a Sunday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Until next time...

I have those fidgety days too where I can't seem to settle down and do much of anything. Thankfully, they don't happen often! Hope next weekend is more like you expect.

I get that fidgety thing, defiinitely. Happens to everyone. Love your stitching btw. As for the glasses. I saw this thing on CBS Sunday Morning a few weeks back -- hopefully you could find it online -- about this frame company that's online. They sell frames for much cheaper than actually stores by cutting out the middle man. And their site lets you "try on" the glasses virtually. I can't remember the name of the company sadly, but like I said, maybe their website will have the info?? Good luck! I know how frustrating it can be to find the right frames. I actually ordered the same frames this time around since I like mine so much. (I needed a spare pair for emergencies, so I have two with the same frame now, one the older prescription.)

I think we all get that fidgety thing from time to time and it always seem to pass quite quickly:)

Your L*K is looking good:)

It sounds like your weekend wasn't a total let-down, Valerie. I mean you did go to stitching group and explore the city!! Your little cookies and milk block rule is so cute...It's nice to be nearly half done, isn't it?

I have a tough time finding frames for my glasses, too--and now that I need them for both far away and close-up viewing it is even more of a struggle. I can't believe the prices they get for some of those frames--insane!! Good luck :)

Love the fifth rule you stitched. How cute that it looks like only 3/4 glass of milk. It is going to be adorable when finished.

I usually get fidgety when I'm stitching something I don't want to and I'd rather be doing something else, hehehe. Weekends are usually really good for me, cos I try to get everything done during the week and we just stay home and bum around.

Awwww, at least you were a butterfly socializing and sleeping. :D Rule 7 looks great!!

Yup, I have those fidgety moments, too, that nothing I do seems to be able to get my full attention.....

Love your stitch, though, cookies and milk sounds great right about now~~

Hope your week is going well!!

I get fidgety when I have too much to do! I just flutter between each item getting none of them done!

Sounds like you had a great weekend anyway. I had inlaws in town so I didnt get to SBTB. I havent been to one since early last year. :( Rule 5 is adorable! Love it.

Sounds like a fun weekend!

A little stitching is better than none. :)

Sounds like a lot of us have bouts of the fidgets. LOL.

I also need new glasses. Mine, I'm embarrassed to admit, are being held together with super glue. I get whopping headaches from my glasses and need to go with the 'no frame' version for lighter weight, but they are sooooo fragile and prone to breaking. I wish I could still wear contacts! Good luck on your glasses hunt!

I hope you can find some glasses to suit, Valerie! I only wear them for driving but hate choosing frames.

Sorry you've had a bout of the fidgets - I get that way too sometimes. At least you got another "rule" stitched - coming along nicely!

Sorry to hear about the fidgety - I get that too and then kick myself for wasting time! LOL!! Your stitching looks great. As for me, I can't talk and stitch to save my life, so I get very little stitching done at get togethers.

I get that fidgety thing happening, too--much too frequently--and like Michelle says, then kick myself for wasting time. I'm also useless at stitching get togethers (or when my friends scrapbook & I stitch) because my mouth becomes unhinged and I can't stop talking. Love your Christmas Rules--remember, any stitch made is one closer to a finish! ;)

I think I would have died and gone to heaven if I ever visited you. All these places to eat that you talk about... :oP''''
