IHSW & TUSAL...Super Late!

Hmmm...I'm starting to wonder if I should just resign myself to the fact I will always be late and my grand goals for stitching will always come up short. Although, I shouldn't act so glum and upset about it. Fact is, I've been having a lot of fun and a fantastic summer so far. The days are long and the options are high.

I did manage to stitch a little bit on Friday night and Fairy Moon received a bit of attention. I finished the section of dress I was working on and have moved onto her hair. Doesn't look like much other than a dark brown blob but it's getting there.

And here's my TUSAL post for the month. Not very much has been added to it.

Last weekend was a flurry of activity. I saw To Rome With Love which was an enjoyable film. Classic Woody Allen...not fantastic but entertaining enough with some fantastic shots of Rome...a destination that happens to be on my bucket list. Afterwards, a group of us had a late dinner and hit the karaoke bar. It was a lot of fun. I wasn't brave enough to do my own song on the stage but I had a lot of fun singing along from my little perch at the bar. Sunday was a fun day starting off with brunch at my favorite spot along with lots of lounging around in the nearby park and then hitting a wonderful jazzy set at a local jazz club. It was a fantastic weekend. No surprise that I got very little stitching done...right?

This weekend is setting up to be just as busy...although plans aren't necessarily set in stone. I just know I won't be home much and things should be fun.

***

So I thought I would do a little recap on my little weight loss journey. I didn't start off with much to lose. The goal was 15 pounds. I just wanted my pants to fit better, feel better in general and tone up some. I haven't been able to get to the gym much since things have been quite busy and I found it really hard to find the time. I like to go after work since that's most convenient but things like alterations, chiropractor, shoe repair always gets in the way since the shops are only open until 530/6pm and I get off work at 5pm. If I stray from the work to gym journey, I am apt to forego it altogether. Shame, shame.

Since February, I've lost 10 pounds and have managed to keep them off. Yay me!

**Ok, this is where it might be tmi for guys so I'll wait a bit for anyone who wants to hit the back button.**

I've noticed the 10 pound loss in certain areas. Areas, I'm not so happy about losing. Like my chest and bum. Hello...those are the nice parts. Why won't this weight drop off my tummy and thighs?! It's been noticeable in my face and neck (which are already skinny parts) also so I've been getting quite a few comments. Last week, I realized that my bras just weren't fitting right anymore. I was dreading having to go shopping. C'mon...how many women really like going bra shopping? Yea, I thought so. So this week, I got re-measured and tried on about a million bras to come out of it with 4 new ones in a whole new size. One in a band size I don't ever remember fitting into...ever. It's so strange. I also spent last night trying on every single bra I had and I managed to keep...drumroll...1 bra.

Hmmm, I like seeing the weight loss on the scale but do not like spending the extra money to supplement my wardrobe. Bras are freaking expensive! I'm a little scared to lose the extra 5 pounds I want to lose because I wonder if that will mean I will need to go out and buy all new pants! Although, I do have some pairs that fit but a bit too snugly still. Perhaps, I'll be ok.

5 more pounds...I can do it...right??

Well, time to begin the weekend. Happy Weekend to everyone! Go out, have fun and be safe.

Until next time...

Pretty ORTs, Valerie! Even one ORT added is a good thing.

I hear you on the weight loss. Loosing boobs instead of tummy is total crap!

You totally can do it! Well, boobs and butts are mostly fat and that's what you are losing.

Congrats on your weight loss. That's fabulous!

Great job on the weight loss! I guess we all lose weight in the t&a area which really does stink! You can shed those last five, I'm sure! You sound happy too, which is a really good thing!!!

It sounds like your summer is going great! Those bad pounds!! They always come off in the wrong places!!

Pretty orts! I know how you feel with the late postings, I'm the same way! But we shouldn't stress over it, isn't this hobby a way for us to relieve stress?!?

Great work in the weight loss goals! We all seem to lose in those areas first, it's such a shame!!! I think we all know exactly how you feel about that!!!

Nice progress on Fairy Moon - and I certainly wouldn't worry about stitching goals if you'e having fun by not achieving them :-) Well done on the weight loss, that's a great result, despite the unwanted distribution.

Excellent news on your weight loss! I only wish I could follow suit! :0(
Fairy Moon is coming on nicely. I really do love the fabric you've chosen to stitch her on.
I'm so pleased you're having a fun summer. Long may it continue!! :0)

Fairy Moon is looking great. It definitely looks like progress to me.
I am so glad that you are having FUN! Make the most of it and enjoy it while it is here.
The weight loss thing is frustrating. It is great for the scale to go down, but why are the parts that you want to be skinnier not the ones you lose first :)I know that you can lose that last 5.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Wow! Good for you on the weight loss! Not fair on it showing where you don't want it to though. I know that feeling! But hey, there's no way I'd be able to lose 10 pounds and keep it off. I wish! Good luck with the 5 to go. And hey, at least that expense of the bras is over with.

Love your Fairy Moon -- so pretty!

I never set stitching goals. Sure, I'd like to finish a few projects or make some progress on some but if I set goals I only end up disappointed in myself.

Losing weight was never hard when I really put my mind to it...it's keeping it off that is proving to be a daily challenge.
I know you can do it!

"Fun and fantastic summer so far"--hmmm...sounds very interesting ;-)

Love your progress on Fairy Moon--I can't imagine stitching a large piece like that. I seem to be stuck in the "smalls" mode forever!

I KNOW you can lose the last five pounds, Valerie (coming from someone who has yet to lose the last five pounds of baby weight she gained with her last baby--born 24 years ago!!). Seriously, just take some extra walks, cut some portions in half, and you'll have it off in no time!

Hoping this is one of those fun and fabulous weekends, my friend!!

Fairy Moon looks great. Keep up the weight loss progress. If the cup size of your bra didn't change then they didn't change. It's the weight around you to make a bra size different. You won't want to lose in the cup size.

Great progress Valerie even though it's wee :D The summer is too good to be stuck at home I say! Good for you on loosing some weight even though it's not in the places you want! I loose it too in the boobs and bottom...not the tummy and thighs. Those parts are terribly stubborn :(

Good progress on Fairy Moon - she'll be gorgeous.

And congrats on the 10 lbs, that's wonderful. And if you can do 10, you can certainly do 5 more!

It's funny how weight always seems to come off where you least want it to and goes on where you least want it to as well. Good for you though losing that amount, it's not easy to do.

Valerie, great progress on your "Fairy Moon" ... she's starting to come to life!

Good job on your weight loss ... and good luck on reaching your goal!

Good to hear you sounding happy and content ... seems like your dance card has been full this summer!

Take care.

Good for you on the weight loss but I know how expensive the new wardrobe requirements can be. We go in kilos here and over the past six months I lost 12kg and like you required new clothes from inside out! The alteration serviceman is my new best friend!

Well done on the weight loss and good luck for the next few pounds. I know what you mean about losing it in the places you'd be quite happy for it to stay. I've found that too.

Sounds like you're having a busy but fun summer - enjoy!!

Fairy Moon is looking good and so great that you have lost those ten pounds. It is a fact of life that you never lose it from where you want to lose it, though. I hope that this weekend has been as fantastic for you as last weekend.

Well done on the weight loss. A lovely post and you sound so happy. Fairy moon is looking lovely.
Have a good week!

Good job on the weight loss!! You can do it!!!
I like to take measurements, instead of keeping track of pounds, to see where I'm losing it and how much. I bet you took more off your thighs and stuff than you think!

Nice progress on Fairy Moon!!!

Well done on the weight loss. Oh, I absolutely know what you mean.

Fairy Moon is looking great. Lovely orts in your jar too.

You're right... no one likes to go bra shopping and they *are* expensive! Congrats on your weightloss, though. That's awesome! I haven't been successful at all.

Sounds like you're having a great social life. :) I'm happy for you.

The stitching looks great, even if you aren't doing as much as you'd like.
